Caring and Passionate
BMS teachers are passionate about your child's
happiness, growth and safety, and providing a nurturing environment that
cultivates self-esteem. This is more than a job for our teachers. It’s
an opportunity for them to share their passion for life while they
inspire, engage, and awaken the wonder inside each and every child.
Small Class Size
BMS low
teacher-to-student ratios allow teachers to focus on the individual
learning styles and needs of each child in our school.

Señora Selene Duran
Hello Parents!
My name is Selene Duran I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. I am fully bilingual. I now live in Los Alamos,NM. I have worked in State Day cares and private schools. I have worked with children that have had deficiencies to speak and hear. I fully understand the importance to help children dominate their language skills. I believe that it is a great advantage for children to be bilingual at an early age. I am very dedicated to my work and most important of all I love children. I understand as a parent myself how important our children are to us. I can assure you that all children will be in good hands and most important will learn to dominate both Spanish and English. For me it is very important to have good communication with parents to fully understand the goals that they want their children to accomplish here at Bilingual Montessori School. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to work here at Bilingual Montessori School in a diverse environment with all children.

Señorita Glenda Stefanie Rivas
Hola
My
name is Glenda Stefanie Rivas; I’m from Guerrero, Chihuahua,
Mexico. I currently am’ a Santa Fe Community student: working
towards an Early Childhood associates and looking forward to
graduating the summer of 2012. I have taken: Child Growth,
Development Main and learning, Health Safety and Nutrition. I love
working with children, and learning from them. I consider myself a
teacher as a researcher, since I like to research my students and
learn from their actions and reactions. I’m an energetic,
responsible, loving and sensitive person. My mother Rosario Cordova
is also working at Bilingual Montessori school, and she is more than
happy to work here. I believe that this profession runs in the
family. I have been interested in becoming a kindergarten teacher
since I was sixteen years old. I’m also interested in starting the
Maria Montessori Certificate the summer of 2012. I have done
observations at the community college child care, and at Turquoise
trail elementary charter school with ages new born to eight year
olds. My perfect age to teach I think is pre-kindergarten and
kindergarten. I’m more than glad and happy to work here at
Bilingual Montessori School.

Señora Silvia Román
Hi,
I am Silvia Roman. I was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I went to college in Bolivia to earn a degree in Tourism, so I studied English and German. After college, I went to Bern, Switzerland for a year to practice German. The following year, I came to the United State to continue studying English where I met my husband, Jorge. We have been married for 18 years and since then I have been living in Los Alamos. Jorge is a computer scientist working at the Laboratory for 25 years. We have three children, Cristina 15, Miguel 13, and Lucia 11. Lucia was born with Down Syndrome, but thanks to early intervention and the support of families, friends and teachers, she is becoming an amazing girl. She is a trouble maker too.
I'm a Montessori Certified teacher for 0 to 3yrs. I continued my studies at UNM and Northern NM Community College hoping to finish Elementary Education someday. In the meantime I really love working at the Bilingual Montessori School as a substitute caregiver for those adorable children. I hope we will have more children enrolled in the school, so I will have a full time position working with them.
I was seven when my brother was born and since the day I saw him, I fell in love with infants and toddlers. I have been around infants all my life. I also enjoy reading, quilting, traveling and gardening

Hello,
My name is
Juan Fernandez I am 25 and I am Bilingual Montessori's newest summer
teacher. As a product of the Montessori system I began life here in
White Rock. In 2003 I graduated from High School in Esterillos, Costa
Rica. I have attended NMSU and currently the Norwegian School of
Management to finish my degree in Business Administration.
Previously I was a US Marine where I served in Iraq with
distinguished service as an ordnanceman. One of my favorite things
to do is travel from Spain, Costa Rica, Norway, Turkey, Puerto Rico,
Sweden, to wherever else I can learning about other cultures and
societies. I believe great food and language are the gateway into
learning about other countries. I hope to open a restaurant one day
where I can be a guest chef in my own kitchen. Spanish is my first
language, followed by English and a growing talent for Norwegian. I
am the middle of two children Diana (29), Adriana (24), as well as my
parents Juan and Odalys Fernandez. I am excited for a wonderful
summer of sun, fun and learning.
