Highly valued care and Education
Dear Bilingual Montessori School,
Our child has attended BMS for over three years, and we highly value the care and education they have received. Having our child in a Spanish-speaking environment was important to us, and one of the biggest factors for choosing BMS was the separate, specialized care you provided for infants. This was particularly important to us during the pandemic as our childs extreme prematurity put them at higher risk for respiratory conditions.
Thanks for all you have done, and we’ll continue to recommend and support BMS to the community.

Hands down the best place for Infant and Toddler care
Bilingual Montessori School is hands down the best place for infant and toddler care in Los Alamos! As a full-time working parent I felt guilty sending my children to daycare. However, with Bilingual Montessori School I don’t feel as if my kids are going to daycare, I feel as if they are going to be with extended family members who truly know, care, and love them! My girls are treated with respect and are nurtured in a variety of ways. As a matter of fact, my three year old already knows her ABCs and can count to ten in English and Spanish. If you are looking for child care in Los Alamos and want the best for you and your child, look no further than the Bilingual Montessori School.

Gifted and Caring Professionals
"I have known Odalys Fernandez for 6 years. She has taught my daughter (now 8) and my son (now 6). As an elementary school principal in public education, I value the importance of fostering independent learning in a structured, challenging, nurturing and creative environment. Bilingual Montessori does an excellent job at meeting the unique developmental and educational needs of each child through integrating modes of learning and differentiated instructional strategies. The teachers are gifted and caring professionals, who use exploration, fun and engaging activities to build confident learners! Mrs. Fernandez' love for children and high expectations for her school is all around, and is reflected by the clean, organized, brightly-colored classrooms filled with happy and engaged students -- a wonderful place!"

Children well cared for and loved
My son has been enrolled with Bilingual Montessori for almost 3 years. As a full-time working mother, I knew I needed to find a place where my son could bond with his teachers, would receive both structure and fun, and will be able to learn at his natural level. I have checked out all the pre-schools in the Bilingual area. What attracted me to Bilingual Montessori was the small, intimate, well-located facility, the director's approach and philosophy, and the teachers' warmth and nurturing attitudes. All the children, from the very smallest to the very oldest are exposed to a variety of activities and all are included, as is age-appropriate. All children are appreciated for their unique gifts, and activities are tailored to their individual development needs. After being in the Montessori program for 3 years, I often think how fortunate I have been to have such a wonderful place for my son to spend his time while I have to be at work. Nothing can be more comforting for a working "away from the home" parent than to know their children are being well cared for and loved by people who have the same values, hopes and dreams for their children as they do.

Solid Foundation
I am very happy to say that our daughter has been enjoying her time at Bilingual Montessori. I wasn't sure at first how she would acclimate to it, but she has and she is thrilled to be there. It is said that what a child learns in his first few years is most important. We truly believe our daughter is building a sound foundation for learning. In turn, we hope this foundation will help guide her in the future at other institutions and settings.

BMS is a family
Antonio started at BMS in October 2008 after having a difficult time at another Montessori school. We chose BMS because of the warm reception we received on our visit and how clearly you understood the issues we were having. We were hurt and shocked and wondered if there was a problem with our child and your response was "He is three!" and that put us at ease. Over the next two years, you gave him love, self confidence, care, discipline, and a preschool education. I have saved the multitude of pictures you have sent me over the years from him sleeping at nap time, to crafts, to doing work, to the fabulous field trips and trips to the pool. Your patience and love of these children is phenomenal but then you extended that to the parents as well. I will never forget your offer to help out when I had surgery or when my husband started a new job in ABQ. and I was a single mom for two months. That kind of offer is worth more than I can say. I also appreciate your honest assessment of Antonio and your ability to share the good as well as talk to me about where he needs help. BMS is a family and I was proud to be a member of that family. Thank you for sharing my son's preschool years with us.

Teachers are fabulous, and our child was well prepared
We would like to thank you for all that you did for Jordyn over these last 5 years. We truly believe she would not be where she is at in her readiness for kindergarten and social/emotional development if it wasn't for your assistance in helping her grow. Your patience, kindness and willingness to work with her was truly remarkable. And as a parents it was comforting knowing that she was safe, learning and overall just having fun with you and her friends.
As a teacher I know we don't always get the gratitude we deserve, but I hope you know how valuable you are to this community. As the old saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child and we personally could not think of a better group of teachers than you to do that with.
Thank you again for all that you do!

A Wonderful and rich start in life
Our daughter was a student at BMS from the age of three months old until 2 years old, when we relocated to my husband’s home country of Israel. During that time, BMS and the teachers there were a vital and essential part of her life. I went back to work full-time when my daughter was three months old. It was a difficult decision and, in retrospect, I would have stayed at home longer, but BMS made the transition as easy and beneficial for us all as possible. I remember that very first day my husband took our little baby to BMS. I was so nervous, and I felt so guilty arriving at work. Shortly after I turned on my computer in my office, I got an email from BMS with several pictures attached, showing our little daughter smiling and happy at BMS. I felt instant relief. This is the sort of personal touch parents get from them. My daughter bonded greatly with her teachers—Denise, Rosemary, Dora, Selena, and Evelyn, plus all the other part-time teachers. In fact, after she moved to the toddler 2 class, she would insist on going to her old classroom every morning to say hello to her previous teachers, Denise and Rosemary. The bond was clearly strong. She also learned many life skills, even in that first year. The staff and teachers were always attentive to each child’s different needs and personalities. Additionally, the bilingual element of BMS is extremely enriching. My daughter has had absolutely no trouble learning Hebrew, and I’m sure it is because of her early exposure to more than one language. It does wonderful things in developing a child’s brain and is a very important service BMS is doing for the next generation. In short, our whole family misses BMS, and we thank them for giving our daughter such a wonderful and rich start in life.

Lucky to have this school in town
We are very happy that our kids are in Bilingual Montessori School. Before sending our kids to this school we did our own research. We felt that this school's main goal is allowing the children to be self-directed and self-disciplined, and this is the makeup of the entire program. We were very convinced after talking to them that they give cultural importance, which was very important for us. Bilingual Montessori School is a neighborhood school comprised of diverse families. Children are exposed to a variety of languages and cultures. I have developed individual, unique relationships with teacher, staff, and other parents that enhance our family's experience. Everyone has been helpful and respectful. My children are learning academic skills in addition to good manners and polite behavior. We are pleased with this school and we feel so lucky to have this school in our town. I look forward to the coming year!

Confident, happy and curious children
When searching for a school for our daughter, we had two specifics on which we would not budge: a warm and caring environment, and a program that would allow our daughter to be a child with opportunities for her to be challenged when she was ready. BMS surpassed those expectations within weeks of her enrollment. Not only does she love to learn, but she's self-motivated, respectful of children and adults, and feels safe and cared for. The environment at BMS has helped make her confident, happy, and curious about the world.

Teachers always listen
Our daughter loves going to school every day. She loves his teachers. We love the multicultural lessons that she learns and the parent involvement. The school follows the Montessori philosophy and educational approach of "learning by doing." The school also teaches emotional and social skills, fostering the development of indent, polite, gracious, and responsible children. It feels like a community in which parents are valued and involved. The teachers always listen and help me through challenges. I highly recommend Bilingual Montessori. I encourage anyone with preschool aged children to visit and observe students in the classroom environment.
